Children of today
Our children are really trying their best to just be. Sometimes we find ourselves trying to understand them and when we can’t we are turning to doctors or psychologists to help them. In doing so we end up fitting them into a category or two. We ‘label’ them.
When you go outside into nature and look around, we can see that trees for example are NOT all aligned and straight and ‘just so’. We accept this, and we realise that perhaps that smaller one didn’t get enough light to grow as big as the others; and that the other bent one over there got that way because of the storm that hit him when he was young. We allow for these little idiosyncrasies don’t we?
Well, how about we allow a little more with our children?
They were NOT meant to be all the same, or perform all the same, or react all the same….and neither were you.
Use some kindness in your heart when you speak to them…they are after all our future.
These children of today are nothing like we were and neither should they be. They look at the world through different eyes. They expect different things and react in a totally different way to us.
Please just love them, stop labelling them, care for them and hug them often….Choose to see them as unique and amazing……and you know what? They will be!
Sending Many Blessings to ALL,

This is so true, Barbara. I love the analogy of the trees. Just as we are beginning to allow non-uniform fruit and vegetables into our shops, and models with learning delays onto our catwalks, perhaps we are also beginning to allow our children to be themselves. Now that is a beautiful thought! x x
So very true Barbara! Our children are beautiful gifts as individual as each and every tree, celebrate the opening of their beautiful hearts as we lift them up, and help them to be who they were created to be. Labels need not apply.
Love & Hugs to your heart!!!!
Thank you Wendy and Suzanne….your thoughts are much appreciated! Sending you both Blessings and hugs, Barbara xxxxx
