Our feelings are important to us. Feelings are very valid. But, sometimes, through being shown as a child that we should be seen and not heard, or through a chance remark made by an unkind person about ‘shutting up’ then we find that we have been playing ourselves smaller each year and not voicing things out loud.
We tend to keep all of these things inside and then we can become ill. When we feel like crying and we hold it in, then we can literally ‘rust’ on the inside! Hurts and resentments can show up as illnesses within our bodies. When we have a problem in voicing what we need to; then we may end up with constant sore throats and/or clearing our throats all the time. Do you?
Our feelings may have been invalidated in the past, but now it is time to get back on track! Take up singing or just start singing more often as you go through your day. This will help with your whole throat area. Did you know that the colour blue has a soothing and cooling effect on the throat too? So, perhaps when we DO have a sore throat, we could wear a blue turtleneck sweater or a blue scarf.
My feelings are very important to me and when I have difficulty voicing my opinions over what I have perceived to be a ‘bad remark’, then I swallow it down and make it a permanent energy within my body, and then the next time something like this occurs…I do the same thing over and over again. I invalidate myself! To change this, I have had to learn to speak out, or speak up and KNOW that I count, I matter, and I DESERVE to be able to voice any concerns I may have! Being brave is the only way. Sometimes, we observe that someone around us has been mean…but when we actually speak up for ourselves and mention it to them, they apologise simply because they had no intention of hurting us; it was just the way they said it that impacted on us; and they are sorry. Believe in yourself and start living your life on your own terms; because if you don’t then someone else will take charge of your life for you. Are you really going to let them do that?
Perhaps you truly have some mean people in your life. And, maybe you need to change your friends…it is all your choice…and we really DO have choices that we make every day. To stay where we are…or to move on. The Angels are always on standby to help you if this is your desire. Just ask. Have faith. It will all work out well.
So, sore throat? Gargle a teaspoon of courage and start speaking up. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say! Go for it!
Blessings and hugs,
